Napoleon statue
Napoleon Buonaparte (1769-1821) was born in Corsica and died in exile on the island of Saint Helena.
He rapidly grew in his military career and became emperor, ruling the country between 1804 and 1814, then he was exiled to Elba island, but regained power in 1805.
Still today he is a symbol of power and military genius, many artists depicted him in majestic poses or during his military campaigns (often with his hand hidden under his shirt).
This Napoleon Statue depicts him in his most iconic pose.
