Athena
Athena is one of the most important Greek deties. She is the Goddess of warfare, wisdom, and handicraft (and later of freedom and democracy).
She is the protector of many cities, and the most important is obviously Athens. Parthenon was built in her honour and dedicated to her.
Medusa is connected to her because she is the one that transformed her into a Gorgon (here represented on her shield).
Artistis often depict Athena with a helmet and a spear, exactly like in this marble paste statue.
