Poet Virgil was one of the greatest poets of ancient Rome. He lived between 70 and 19 B.C. and his complete name was Publius Vergilius Maro. He is the author of the famous epic poem Aeneid. It is written in Latin and tells the story of Aenea, the trojan ancesor of the Romans.
He is also the author of other 2 great poems, and some minor poems.
Later his name was used by Dante Alighieri in the Divine Comedy, where he is the guide of Dante in Hell and Purgatory.
