Poseidon was the God of the Seas in Greek Mythology and brother of Zeus.
He was also the protector of horses and the one who triggered earthquakes and storms.
Neptune was the equivalent Roman God.
He is often represented by a sculpture: the statue’s body is usually large and slender with a crown on his head. His clothing is made from marine animals and seashells. His Greek counterpart was Poseidon who was the god of oceanic bodies of water while Neptune was the God of all waters, including those in rivers, lakes, and underground regions. The Greeks also used to worship Neptune as one of their twelve Olympian deities.
